 < Eisteddfod Cairns 1934 >

Ron is listed in the 1934 Eisteddfod program under the non de
plume "Roald" .Why "Roald"? Perhaps Ron had a schoolboy
admiration for the Norweigan explorer Roald Amundsen. It is
an interesting coincidence that in the final years of his career
Ron was working on a TV series initially based around the
short stories of another "Roald" [Dahl] - Tales of The
     Unexpected.
